Hello:what is the plan for newman? is it looking for a new owner? or is the current owner looking to sell?the reason i ask is that i went to my first race sat around all day only to have the race canceled. that being said it also gave me all day to take a good look at the complex and it needs alot of help. any info would be appreciated. as this will help to plan for any kart racing for me in the near future. thank you very much Larry.

Kings Speedway has built a clay oval for all your race needs. Everyone is invited to come and race at the newest track in the Valley.



All Flat and Winged Karts will be ran at Kings Speedway on the new clay oval.

Racing Will Break for
Tafts Annual Fireworks Show

There are a some individuals that would like to see the Barn Burner close; however, that is not my plan. I'm in the process of deciding the schedule right now. We will not run more than two Saturdays a month. We may even race only one Saturday on those busy months in November and December. I only drive 2 miles to get to the track but I do understand you guys drive hours and the gas is very costly right now. The Barn Burner opening day will be August 30th.

Let me know if you have any special races that you are running in September thru December. I will do my best to work around them. Running only 1 to 2 races a month, it will be easier to work with my schedule. Send an email to Kim's address above and she will get me all the information.

I'm taking Christian and Ty to Caruthers this Saturday...hope to see you there!

The Newman track is not being run by Diaz MotorSports. I don't think anyone is actually racing there now. I will have the Barn Burner up and running for our opening day on August 30th. We plan to run quads/karts in the morning and motorcycles in the evening. Unfortunately, with the prices of gas and the way the economy is going, I'm not able to run quads/karts on Saturday nights at this time. Our track will need to run both mornings and evenings to help pay the bills and keep it running. We will get it started and do our best.

Meanwhile you can find some kart/quad/motorcycle racing in Taft. They need your support as well. These days, it's hard to promote racing with the way gas prices are. You can look Taft up at www.TaftFlatTrack.com

does anyone know if Newman track will run again this year

anybody know what lap times are being run this season.. for micros, 450s, 5hp mod or stock, or the 100s?

thats a bummer deal lots of new faces planned on coming it was agood weekend for all to try with no other tracks running and me not having to work lol. oh well this is 0-2 for me to come there it just aint meant to be.

I have cancelled the races for this Saturday, May 10th. We are having lighting issues at the track and we may resume after we can get more lights put up. I apologize for any inconvenience. Have a good week.

We love the track its dialed in for the main for the micros

The kart drivers requested the 2 heats, trophy dash and a main at the riders meeting on April 5th. We scheduled all kart classes (except kid karts) for what they wanted. When it came time for the 2nd heat and trophy dash on the April 19th race...everybody backed out except for the youth wing kart class. Everybody was stating to Joe that they wanted to stay with 1 heat and 1 main. Joe didn't make the change because he's trying to get the races over faster...he's listening to the drivers.

FYI - The Micro Sprints have 1 eight lap heat and 1 twenty lap main. That's what they want, they have a good class count and they all agree...so Joe gives it to them. I'd like to see more classes have that opportunity as well. You guys just need to work together and communicate what you want. Joe's easy to work with.

i thought the karts were goin to run 2 heats a dash and a main we were goin to drive the 2 hours there but for one heat and a main its not really worth it just wondering why you changed it we wanna race but not for 15 laps all day
